A special fire burns in Årsdale – and it doesn't just wrap itself around the chimney, the smokehouse, the herring, salmon and mackerel, it also burns for the local, the locals.
Because here, it's about making the tourist season a year-round season. About making the outskirts the forefront. About utilizing the best in people. The experienced gold, with special skills – who are too good to go. But also the young gold, with untested opportunities – who are too good to waste.
When you bring them together around a mission, an enterprise – or as it is called in good Danish: “a chore”, something happens. There is activity driven by necessity, inspiration and community.
When we work together, we eat better together, live better together – and inspire others. Everything needs to be lit and stirred up – and not just the old smokehouses and pots in the kitchen.
Because there is a need to ignite new thoughts – because the sea is suffering, the fjords are dying, streets and shops are empty in our cities, while we are becoming more and more numerous and more and more lonely. This needs to be changed. It must be a new inspiring attraction – and the smell from the smokehouse must be able to be smelled all over Denmark.
That's my philosophy, I'm a smoke master and a cook without a back-up and I'm already well underway.
